McLean, VA – January 15, 2018 – DGC International welcomes former US Army logistics Colonel (Ret.) Michael Baumeister to the headquarters office in Virginia. Mr. Baumeister has 27 years of experience in the U.S Army with varied Command and Staff roles as a logistician, and he spent 16 years of his career at Fort Bragg, North Carolina with multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. As a Colonel and prior to Joining DGC International, Mr. Baumeister had three significant roles. First, he served as a Senior Program Manager at the U.S Army Reserve Command Corporate Headquarters as the Director of Training and led greater than 100 professionals managing a $1.2 billion training readiness portfolio matched against the requirements of the National Military Strategy for a 200,000 person U.S. Army Reserve operating force based in the United States, Europe, and the Pacific.
While stationed with USSOCOM Headquarters, Mr. Baumeister was responsible for identifying, creating, developing, and integrating innovative logistics and operations solutions for the management of a classified program that centrally controlled significant collective training and exercise requirements. Finally, while in Kabul, Afghanistan Mr. Baumeister led a military logistics team of US joint forces as well as British, Polish, Romanian and Australian NATO logistics experts supporting a 10,000 person NATO and US Special Forces operating force throughout all of Afghanistan for greater than 12 months where he proved the ability to successfully manage large scale supply chain projects in a matrix organization across regional and often global geographies and organizational boundaries and he managed the corporate process that initiated and controlled the fiduciary oversight and execution of $150 million of acquisition and contracts. He has earned Master’s Degrees Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management and Policy, and Management and is a licensed Professional Engineer, is certified as a Project Management Professional and as a Demonstrated Master Logistician.
